The Costa Atlantica was the first of Costa Crociere commissioned cruise ship under the leadership of Carnival Corporation. Was delivered to the ship in 2000 by the shipyard Kvaerner Masa -Yards in Helsinki. The ship was christened by the Italian actress and film diva Claudia Cardinale on the name Costa Atlantica. It has a passenger capacity of 2680 seats and a crew size of 920 men. The drive system of the Costa Atlantica is diesel-electric and allows a speed of 24 knots.
