Crowninshield Island

Crowninshield Iceland (formerly Brown's Iceland ) is a 5 acres ( 2 ha) large island in Marblehead Harbor in the Atlantic Ocean about 120 meters off the coast of Marblehead, Massachusetts in the United States. It is managed as a nature reserve by the organization The Trustees of Reservations.

Sanctuary

The island has long hosted the recreation island for the residents of the surrounding area and was given to the Trustees in 1955 by Louise DuPont Crowninshield. In saltwater ponds several seashells and tidenabhängige plants and animals can be considered, on the coast nesting migratory birds. There are also sandy beaches as well as outdoor and smaller forest areas. Visitors to the island is a trail on the island.
