Halibut Point Reservation is a 12 acres ( 4.9 ha) large nature reserve near the town of Rockport, Massachusetts in the United States, which is administered by the organization The Trustees of Reservations in cooperation with the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR ).

Sanctuary

On Halibut Point was dismantled in the 20th century on a large scale granite, which was used for construction of buildings in the surrounding towns. Thus, there is also the Boston Custom House Tower from the material obtained there. 1934, the Trustees were able to acquire the land and set up as a reserve.

From the sanctuary of particular good birding is possible. It is located in the immediate vicinity of the managed by DCR Halibut Point State Park, where there is also a visitor center with adjacent museum on the history of granite mining at Cape Ann. Through the area lead 2.5 mi (4 km) trails that are part of the Atlantic Path.
