D'Ieteren

The D' Ieteren SA is a Belgian company with headquarters in Brussels, which was founded in 1805 by Joseph -Jean D' leteren in Brussels. The holding company is engaged in vehicle sales, the short-term car rental, the vehicle glass repair and new installation. The Group serves 19 million customers in 120 countries on five continents.

History

The company D' leteren was founded by the master coachbuilder Joseph -Jean D' leteren in Brussels in the 19th century. The company kept pace with the development in the transportation industry and has developed from vehicle business to industrial business enterprise. Beginning of the 20th century began D' leteren to produce car bodies for export. Later it went on with assembly and import of cars and trucks.

After the Second World War, D' leteren received the exclusive import rights for Studebaker (1945 ), Volkswagen (1948) and Porsche ( 1950). The business of car rental began in 1956 with the hire of the Volkswagen Beetle on the Belgian market. 1958 got D' leteren the Avis license for Belgium. The company imports and distributes other brands of the Volkswagen Group: Audi (1974 ), Seat (1984 ), Škoda Auto (1992 ), Bentley (2000), Lamborghini (2001) and Bugatti (2006), and products by Yamaha ( 1975). In 1999, D' Ieteren together with the Cobepa Group in a joint venture, the majority of the Belron Group, and thus on the world market leader in the repair and replacement of automotive glass. Belron operates in Europe, South America and China under the brand names Autoglass and AUTO GLASS operate, and in North America at Safelite, Lebeau Vitres d' cars, Speedy Glass, Apple Auto Glass and Duro. In Australia, Belron operates under the brand name O'Brien and New Zealand under the name of Smith and Smith.
