Formation

The emergence of possible solutions is to thank Nikolaus Ludwig von Zinzendorf, who on May 3, 1728 first solution gave the Brethren in the familiar " singing lesson " on the way: " Love has driven along it, Love tore him from the throne, and I should not love him? "Well from that point on was a brother every morning in each of the 32 houses of the village, arguing the order of the day, not only the solution was exchanged, but also operated a real pastoral care. The brother in question was the evening in the singing lesson the prayers and concern of the Brethren before. With the publication of the first printed version of the 1731 Daily Devotional was no longer drawn every day, but for a whole year. David Christian has this drawing of the slogans for the year described in 1735 so that at the output of the year an extraordinary meeting takes place in the presence of the elders, with brothers and sisters are present in each class and each daily solution was drawn. The solutions in the sense of Count von Zinzendorf: " slogans are what is called the watchword in war, from siblings can see how they can take their course at a mark. " The basic form of the biblical word and the Gesangbuchvers was already given in 1731. The other form was a Gesangbuchvers with regard to individual passages, which has ceased to exist later. It is noteworthy that many readers of the solutions have come through the reading of a daily Bible reading.

In 1943, the allocation of paper was denied, so that the Moravian Church was given a generous donation of paper by the brothers from Sweden. However, even after the arrival of the paper, the pressure necessary permission was not granted. Only after the Brethren the Swedish explorer Sven Hedin asked for help and this then a letter to Joseph Goebbels wrote how much lying to him the appearance of the solutions on the heart, the print permission in October 1943 for the years 1943, 1944 and 1945 for the solutions was granted. In response, Goebbels wrote on April 1, 1943 Sven Hedin:

" In your letter of March 20, I'm back as last year, despite the very limited printing capacity in the kingdom than willing making the, slogans and teaching texts of the Brethren approve '. I am particularly pleased to be able to fulfill your order a personal wish. "
