Dainius Kreivys

Dainius Kreivys ( born April 8, 1970 in Jonava ) is Lithuanian politician and businessman, Member of the Seimas, former Minister of Economy of Lithuania.

Biography

From 1977 to 1985 Dainius Kreivys studied at the Middle School No. 5 in Jonava Rimkai, where he made his high school diploma. In 1989, he completed a degree in radio engineering at the Polytechnic Institute of Kaunas and from 1991 to 1995, the study of history at Vilnius Pedagogical University. From 2006 to 2008 he completed MBA for Executives at the Baltic Management Institute ( BMI) in Vilnius and manufactured the master's thesis. In 2009 he defended the thesis on " stability of the national currency in the context of currency crises: the case of Lithuania ".

From 1995 to 1998 Senior executive in some retail companies. From 1995 to 2008 he worked as a manager and CEO of Lithuanian companies like UAB " Baldenis " (1998), UAB "balance partneriai " (2005) and AB " Silikatas " ( since 2008). From 2008 to 2009 he was a member of the City Board Vilnius. Previously he was also an advisor to the Institute of the new public management; published several articles on topics of macro and political economy. From 9 December 2008 to March 2011 was Dainius Kreivys Lithuanian Economy Minister. He is succeeded by his deputy Vice Minister Rimantas Žylius (* 1973).

Since 2002 he is a member of the Conservative Party Tėvynės Sąjunga ( the Homeland Union - the Christian - Democratic Party of Lithuania ), member of the Council and the Presidium of the Homeland Union.

Family

Kreivys is married. His wife is Dalia Kreivienė is official at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania. They have a son, Daumantas ( students) and a daughter, Marija Gabrielė.
