Daniel Manz

Daniel Manz ( born September 12, 1987 in Kempten ( Allgäu) ) is a German Taekwondo fighter. He is a seven-time German champion and is a member of the German national team since 2002.

Career

Manz began in 1994 at the age of seven years with Taekwondo. First club was the Taekwondo community Allgäu. Since 2000, Daniel Manz was among the first athletes of Friedrichshafen Taekwondo boarding school under the direction of Mark Kohlöffel.

In 2002 he made ​​the jump into the German junior national team. His first successes came with five German Championships at junior level (2003 to 2007). At the international level with two second places at the European Youth Championships 2003 and the Junior World Championship in 2004, Daniel Manz is not only the most successful youth athletes at BSV Friedrichshafen, but also the most successful youth Taekwondo fighter Germany. His sister Jennifer Manz is also a successful Taekwondo athlete and part since 2003 also in the competition, the team BSV Friedrichshafen. In 2006, he won his first league titles in the men and in the same year in South Korea CISM Military World Champion. 2007 Manz also secured the German league title. On 18 April 2009 he married Sümeyye Manz, which is also an excellent Taekwondo athlete. The couple has a son.

Profession

Daniel Manz currently belongs to a sports soldier in the rank of sergeant in the sports promotion group of the Bundeswehr in Sonthofen.

Daniel Manz is an active member of the German squad (DTU ) and the TUBW - country squad.

Olympic Games 2008

After he had won in January 2008, a starting place in Istanbul for the Summer Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008, followed by a second place finish at the World Military Championship and a third place at the European Championship staged in Rome.
