Danny Chauncey

Danny Chauncey ( born June 19, 1956 in San Francisco) is an American Southern rock guitarist and singer and since 1987 member of the band 38 Special. He is also a songwriter.

Life

Chauncey grew up in Alameda County, California, on. There he attended Alameda High School. His first instrument was a Stella 6 -string cowboy guitar. His first electric guitar was a red Gibson SG with a Fender 50w Super Reverb amplifier.

Before he as a guitarist - in association with Max Carl, who took over the vocals - the band replaced Don Barnes 38 Special, was Chauncey 1983-84 guitarist and keyboard player for the Oakland band Billy Satellite, with whom he recorded the eponymous album, which the Billboard album Charts. The two singles Satisfy Me and I Wanna Go Back, Chauncey had written with his bandmates Monty Byron and Ira Walker, reached in 1984, the seats 64 and 78 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. The latter song was covered in 1985 by Gregg Rolie on his solo debut album, reaching 1986 in the interpretation of Eddie Money # 14 in the Billboard charts.

With his high school friend Brad Gillis, other members of Night Ranger and Gregg Allman, he played from 1979 to 1986 also regularly live as Alameda All Stars. Chauncey later worked with Allman's band even with Gregg Allman and Friends and Bertie Higgins ' album Iceland Bound ( 2003).
