Dargaard

Dargaard is a neoclassical dark wave band from Austria. Their music is classically inspired and produced entirely with keyboards. On this basis Dargaard previously published four albums.

History

Dargaard was founded in 1997 by Tharen. Tharen had previously played in several underground bands, among others, Abigor and Amestigon, both black metal bands, as well as Dominion III, an electric project. He was a keyboardist with Abigor, projects Amestigon, Dominion III and Dargaard are, however, completely under his leadership. Dargaard was born from Tharens desire to move away from the Black Metal and express themselves more by classical and ambient music.

Elisabeth Toriser stepped added later as a singer. Also a singer, she served previously with the bands Dominion III and Antichrisis. The latter she left due to musical differences. According Tharen Elisabeth Toriser working casually on another project with acoustic guitars, but there are no publications of the today.

In October 1998 Dargaard recorded their debut album Eternity Rites on the Hoernix Studios. Tharen here composed the songs while Elizabeth wrote the lyrics. The album was released by the record label Napalm Records, was already under contract by his former band activities at Tharen. This is also the reason why Dargaard published no demos. Eternity Rites was very well received by the metal and dark wave fans.

In August 1999, the band returned to the studio and began work on the second album, which was released on June 3, 2000 by Napalm Records under the title In Nomine AETERNITATIS and again got very popular. Then put Dargaard continued their musical journey and published in June 2001, the album Dissolution of Eternity. In March 2004, for the time being the last work appeared Rise and Fall.

Dargaard is still active despite publishing break. However, the band recorded so far no live performances. Also extended tours are not completed according to Tharen due to personal concessions.

Style

Tharen himself describes his music as " songs that radiate a kind of beauty, which we at any time try to make them appear dark and powerful. The same is true for the lyrics of our songs. You are my very own kingdom, and that kingdom consists of dark forces, magic and mystery, and even the darkness has its own form of beauty. ".

Furthermore, he stated that he was inspired by feelings he experiences when reading. Terry Goodkind " Sword of Truth " (originally "Sword of Truth" ) was here, in addition to a number of other books to mention by name also ( " For Grissa est Drauka " on the " Eternity Rites " album is one of them ) as well but the Dragonlance fantasy world ( so is " Dargaard " the castle of the undead death knight Lord Soth, and in " Takhisis Dance" ( called from the " Rise and Fall" album ) Takhisis in Dragonlance is the evil goddess ).
