Darmen Sadvakasov

Intestine Kanatowitsch Sadwakasow (Russian Дармен Канатович Садвакасов; born April 28, 1979 in Zelinograd, now Astana ) is a Kazakh chess champion.

Life

Sadwakasow completed a degree in Translation Studies at the Eurasian National University Gumilev. In 2009 he completed his studies for a Master of public administration at Carnegie Mellon University. Between 2009 and 2012 he worked in the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, he is since 2012 in the Agency for the Civil Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan operates.

Achievements

Sadwakasow won the 1995 Youth Cup Asia. In 1998, he succeeded in Kolkata winning the Junior World Championship U20. The World Chess Federation FIDE awarded him the title of Grand Master thereupon. Sadwakasow 2000 won a major Open in Bali. In his hometown of Astana, he defeated in a competition in 2003 Viktor Korchnoi 5-3 ( 2, -0 = 6) and in a competition in 2004 former world champion Anatoly Karpov with 4.5 to 3.5 ( 2, -1 = 5). In 2004 he won in Copenhagen.

He played in 1998, 2000, 2002 and 2004 for Kazakhstan at the Chess Olympiad. His current Elo rating is 2629 (as of September 2013), so that it is ranked one of Kazakhstan's rankings. His previous highest Elo rating was 2643 in October 2008.
