Darren Bent

Darren Ashley Bent (born 6 February 1984 in Tooting, London) is an English footballer. Since January 2011 he is under contract at Aston Villa, but is currently playing on loan at Fulham.
Career
Ipswich Town
Bent started his career in the youth department of Ipswich Town. He made his professional debut on 1 November 2001 against Helsingborgs IF in the UEFA Cup. His first goal he scored on 27 November 2001 at the 1:4 defeat to Newcastle United. The first league goal he scored on 24 April 2002 in a 1-0 victory against Middlesbrough FC. In February 2003, he made his international debut in the English U21 team against Italy. The 2003/04 season he finished with 18 goals, the 2004/05 season with 19 goals and was top scorer.
Charlton Athletic
In the summer of 2005 Bent then moved for 2.5 million pounds to Charlton Athletic after Ipswich Town had just missed the rise in a row for the third time. In his first game for Charlton, he scored two goals against Sunderland. He was also player of the month of August. At the end of the season he was the third-best scorer in the league and was voted the best player of Charlton Athletic.
Tottenham Hotspur
In the summer of 2007 Bent moved for about 24.5 million euros for Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur. It was the largest sum that had the Spurs ever spent on a player. In his second and at the same time last season at Tottenham he was with 25 goals in 43 matches the top scorer on the team.
Sunderland AFC
After Tottenham but in July 2009 reinforced with Peter Crouch, Bent moved for ten million pounds to Sunderland AFC, which in turn made him the most expensive player in the history of a club; in addition, the sum in case of success could increase to 16.5 million pounds. Aston Villa

His first game for Villa Bent graduated 22 January 2011 in a 1-0 victory against Manchester City over the full 90 minutes. Through his winning goal (18th minute) Bent was in his first game of " match-winner " and took his team three important points against relegation.
Fulham
For the season 2013/14 Bent joined on loan to FC Fulham.
National
Bent was first appointed on 17 August 2005 in a friendly against Denmark in the national team. In addition, he was also appointed to the World Cup qualifiers against Wales and Northern Ireland, but not used. He made his debut then on 1 March 2006 at the home game against Uruguay. For the 2006 World Cup, he was not considered. Thus he ended the year 2006 with only 2 games and no goal.
