Mahamadou " Djila " Diarra (born 18 May 1981 in Bamako, Mali ) is a Malian football player.

Career

He plays in the midfield and had become a key player alongside Juninho, Lyon. Several European clubs were interested in him, like Real Madrid and Manchester United. Due to its importance in Lyon midfielder was announced that for him in the event of a transfer fee should be paid more than Chelsea paid for 2005 Michael Essien ( 38 million euros ). Nevertheless, after tough negotiations, Olympique Lyon could reach an agreement with Real Madrid to a transfer so that Diarra moved to Real Madrid before the season 2006/ 07. The transfer fee was 26 million euros. In January 2011, Diarra moved to AS Monaco in the French league, but after the sporting descent, he left the club again. In February 2012, the last without clubs Diarra joined the Fulham FC, where he was given a contract until the end of the season. Once again he was out of contract in the summer of 2013, he was re- committed on March 25, 2014 from Fulham to support the club in a relegation battle.
