Dave Baksh

David Nizaam Baksh ( born July 26, 1980 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada ) is a Canadian guitarist, singer and producer with Indian roots. Most known he is under the name Dave Brown Sound or Hot Chocolate 41 as an ex- lead guitarist of the Canadian punk band Sum meantime, he was lead singer and guitarist of his new heavy metal / reggae project Brown Brigade, which he founded together with his cousin.

Career

Sum 41 (1997-2006)

Deryck Whibley, Dave and Steve Jocz founded in 1996 the punk band Sum 41 Dave took over in 1997 the role of the lead guitarist and was responsible for the backing vocals. Along with Jason McCaslin the band started a successful career. Dave has participated in 3 albums and EPs in 4 of " Sum 41 " with. In an interview he said that his favorite songs by " Sum 41 " Machine Gun, Pain for Pleasure, Mr. Amsterdam and The Bitter End are.

On 11 May 2006 he left Sum 41 for personal reasons. He explained that he could not continue to try to express themselves musically in Sum 41 without being a thorn in the side of the band - the creative differences were too great. He devoted himself to his new project Brown Brigade.

Brown Brigade (2003 to present)

Dave founded "Brown Brigade" in 2003 together with his cousin as a side project. But since its emergence in " Sum 41 ", the band his new focus, because he can finally play there, what he always wanted - Metal. In "Brown Brigade", he takes the guitar and lead vocals.

The first album of "Brown Brigade " was released on 18 September 2007 in Canada and Japan. It was not very successful and did not achieve fame outside these countries.

On 12 September 2008 Dave retired as a singer and only acted as lead guitarist.

The Organ Thieves (2008 to present)

Since 2008, Dave member of the band The Organ Thieves. In January 2009, they released their first EP God 's Favorite songs on their Myspace page.

Private life

Dave is 1,75 m tall, has brown eyes and black hair. He dropped out of school and thus has no college degree. In the days before " Sum 41 " played on some heavy metal bands, and some of his influences are Metallica, Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin and Van Halen.

Dave is married to his wife Jennifer Baksh for some time.
