David Anspaugh

David Anspaugh (* September 24, 1946 in Decatur, Indiana ) is an American film director who mainly through emotional sports movies like free throw ( Original title: Hoosiers, 1986) and touchdown ( Original title :; 1993 Rudy ) has become known.

Career

Anspaugh studied at Indiana University. In this time he met Angelo Rizzo know, who later wrote the screenplays for free throw and a touchdown. From 1974 to 1976 he attended the School of Film and Television at the University of Southern California.

From 1980 to 1985 he worked for the television series Hill Street Blues as associate producer, producer and director. 1982 and 1983 he won the Emmy for Best Producer. Chance he also directed episodes of other series such as Miami Vice.

His film debut free throw basketball competitions at high schools in Indiana received two Oscar nominations: for Dennis Hopper for Best Supporting Actor and Jerry Goldsmith for Best Original Soundtrack. The playing in the milieu of college footballs at the University of Notre Dame movie Touchdown (1993 ) is well known in the United States.

From 1995 to 1998 he was married to the Nordirin Roma Downey and has a daughter with her, the marriage failed because of the severe depression which he had at the time.
