David Brighty

Sir Anthony David Brighty, CMG (1984 ), CVO (1985) ( born February 7, 1939) is a former British diplomat.

Brighty joined the Foreign Service in 1961 and married in 1963 Diana Porteous. In 1963 he was employed in Brussels, in 1964 in Havana and in 1966 at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. From September 1983, he was Counsellor in Lisbon. On December 31, 1983, he was admitted as a Companion in the Order of St Michael and St George. From 1989 to 1991 he was ambassador in Havana, 1991-1994 Ambassador to Prague.
