David Gregory (Journalist)

David Michael Gregory ( born August 24, 1970 in Los Angeles, California) is an American television journalist and moderator of NBC News and the political talk show Meet the Press.

Life

Gregory was born in Los Angeles, the son of Carolyn Surtees, an accountant, and Don Gregory, film and theater producer. He was educated according to the Jewish faith. Gregory completed a university education at the American University in the year 1992. During his student years he worked for the university television station ATV. He was also a degree in International Affairs at the School of International Service. Gregory was Graduent of 2005 this school and sits on the advisory board of the same.

Since June 2000, Gregory is married to the former prosecutor and Fannie Mae Vice President Beth Wilkinson. You got to know during the reporting and investigation into the bombing of the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City.

Awards

In 2005, Gregory received together with colleagues Emmy Award for coverage of President Ronald Reagan's death and funeral in the summer before.

Journalistic career

Early career

Gregory began his journalistic career at the age of 18 when he worked for KGUN - TV in Tucson, Arizona. He also worked for KCRA - TV in Sacramento.

Today

Gregory is the Deputy Speaker of the newscast since 2003 Weekend Today for Lester Holt. He also represents Matt Lauer on the Today broadcast since 2005. Gregory was speaker of News Chat, Crosstalk NBC, and News front on MSNBC von 1998 to 2000.
