Dean Cundey

Dean Cundey ( born March 12, 1946 in Alhambra, California, USA; actually Dean R. Cundey ) is an American cinematographer, who has worked on many films by famous directors such as John Carpenter, Steven Spielberg, Robert Zemeckis and Ron Howard.

Life and career

Cundey was one of the first cameramen, who used the latest camera technologies. He is responsible for tracking shots in movies like John Carpenter's Halloween - The Night of Horror responsible or Escape. In 1997 he made ​​his debut as a director with the film Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves.

He was nominated for his work on Who Framed Roger Rabbit for an Oscar in 1989. In 2002 Cundey was awarded a Daytime Emmy for his involvement in an episode of the show Religion & Ethics News Weekly. The Society of Camera Operators awarded him with the 1999 President's Award.
