Deborah Pratt

Deborah M. Pratt (* in Chicago, Illinois, USA) is an American actress, screenwriter and television producer.

Life

Pratt grew up in Chicago. She attended Webster University in St. Louis, where she studied psychology and theater studies and graduated with a BA. Her first television role was in 1975 in the television series Make- Up and pistols (English Police Woman ).

From 1984 to 1991 she was married to television producer Donald Bellisario. As an actress, she was known in the 1980s and 1990s by the television series produced by Bellsario Airwolf, Magnum and back into the past. In the award-winning television series Back to the past she was the co-producer and wrote several episodes of the series the screenplays.

As a screenwriter, she was in 1990 for the episode " The Color of Truth" of the television series with the Lillian Gish Prize in the category " Women In Film". Pratt was in the years 1990-1994 a total of four times, as well as a producer of the series for an Emmy for the BEN Award nominated and once each awarded as a screenwriter ( " Our Friend, Martin ", 1999). Her other awards include an Angel Award and the Golden Block Award.

Her directorial debut was produced in 1997 with the book written by her and together with the American Film Institute (AFI ) Short Girlfriends, in which John Anthony Williams took over the lead role. The film won several national and international critics awards. In 2000, she directed Cora Unashamed the drama of the television station PBS. The film appeared in the series The American Collection, and was published in Germany in 2001 on video.

Since 2006, Pratt "The Vision Quest " under the title published a series of short stories as well as a dedicated website that deal with spirituality and science fiction. According to the company presents "The Vision Quest " on " multiple platforms comprehensive entertainment project " which is intended to lead later to a film adaptation.
