Dejan Tomašević

Dejan Tomasevic ( Serbian Cyrillic Дејан Томашевић; born May 5, 1973 in Belgrade, SR Serbia ) is a retired Serbian professional basketball player.

Dejan Tomasevic started his professional career in his home country of Serbia in Borac Čačak. In 1991 he moved to the Serbian traditional club Red Star Belgrade, where he was under contract until 1995 and won the championship two times (1993, 1994). In 1995 he moved to the city and archrival Partizan Belgrade which caused great resentment among the fans of Red Star. With Partizan Tomasevic won next two championships (1996, 1997) and a Cup (1999). In 1999 he signed with Budućnost Podgorica and was able to win three more national titles. 2001 Tomasevic first moved abroad to Spain, where he played for the clubs Taugres (2001 to 2002) and Valencia (2002 to 2005). During this period, he also won the ULEB Cup 2003 beside a Double ( 2002). Since 2005 Tomasevic plays for Greek club Panathinaikos Athens tradition where he won the triple in the first year and the Double in his second year.

The 2.08 m wide center won besides a number of national titles, among others three European Championships and a World Cup with the Serbian national team for which he was an integral part on years.
