Delegations of Tunisia

Delegations (Arabic معتمدية, DMG Mu ʿ tamadiyya ) are a second administrative administrative unit below the governorates in Tunisia. The 24 provinces are subdivided into 264 delegations, turn this into 2073 sectors ( Imadas ). The representatives of the state of each delegation is a delegate. He is appointed by the Home Secretary and acting under the respective governor for a smooth running of the administrative business.

The classification of delegations successes in 1996 and taken into account in highly population density. The goal was a resident population of 4182 inhabitants per sector, which has the consequence that the sectors are very different in size.
