Dell'Orto

Dell'Orto, also DellOrto, is an Italian company that was founded in 1933 by Gaetano Dell'Orto and his sons in Cabiate manufactures worldwide to date carburettor and injection systems for motor vehicles. Dell'Orto was from the 1960s to the 1980s, the largest provider of motorcycle carburetors in Europe; Today, the company works closely with Robert Bosch GmbH and Mikuni.

History and products

The first carburetor Dell'Orto was the type SC 26 was offered in 1933 on the market. The next types of gasifier were in the 1950s for the Italian motorcycle industry standard for Aprilia, Benelli, Ducati, Laverda, Moto Guzzi, MV Agusta, Piaggio, but also a manufacturer of mopeds, scooters and mopeds. The mid-1960s gave Dell'Orto carburetor not only for the auto industry, for example, Innocenti, Alfa Romeo, Ford, Lotus, Lancia, Fiat, including also Citroën 2CV, but also for the manufacturer of chainsaws and generators. In the early 1990s entwicklelte Dell'Orto electronically controlled carburetor and fuel injection systems for Aprilia and BMW (BMW S 1000 RR).

Today Dell'Orto is the sole licensed provider for the ignition and injection control unit (ECU ) of the Moto3 bikes for the motorcycle world championship.
