Denèvre

Denèvre is a commune in Haute -Saône in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Denèvre situated at an altitude of 208 m above sea level, 14 km north-northeast of Gray and about 47 km northwest of the city of Besançon (air line). The village is located in the west of the department, in the northwest of the plateau landscape Saônetals, on the southern edge of the valley of the salon.

The area of ​​5.85 km ² municipal area includes a portion in the region of the plateau north of the Saônetals. The northern boundary runs along the living room which features a north -flung arc here. It flows through a roughly one -kilometer-wide Talniederung, which is on average 200 m, and drains the area east to the Saône. History

Wall foundations from Gallo-Roman period, probably a pottery workshop, point to an early settlement of the area. Denèvre is mentioned as Domno Apro and Denepvre. In the Middle Ages the village belonged to the Free County of Burgundy and in the territory of the Bailliage d' amont. The secular dominion over Denèvre held the Lords of Dampierre. Attractions

The single-nave church with bell tower in Saint- Epvre Imperial style was built in the 18th century. Population
