The Danish men's national handball team represents Denmark in international tournaments in handball.

History

On August 20, 1934 Denmark won his first field handball international match in Copenhagen, which was lost against the German Reich with 5:16. The next countries Match of Denmark on March 8, 1935, received the first indoor handball international match in history. This encounter was defeated Denmark with 12:18 against Sweden.

In attendance at the 1936 Olympic Games in the German Reich renounced Denmark. The trigger for this decision was the statement by the Minister of Propaganda, Joseph Goebbels, that Germany was the inventor of handball. In the next two major events in handball, the handball World Cup in 1938 and the field handball world championship in 1938, went to the Danish selection.

Even after the occupation of Denmark by Germany in 1940, still found Internationals held with Danish participation. After the end of World War 2, the new World Federation IHF straightened back out of the World Championships, which were played out in the hall and to 1966 on the big field. Denmark participated regularly at the world championships in 1967 and recorded with the runner-up at the time the biggest success.
