Dennis Prager

Dennis Prager ( born August 2, 1948 in New York City ) is an American radio talk show host, journalist, author, ethicist and lecturer. He is known for his conservative political views, which are sometimes based on religion, and for his criticism of the secularization of the twentieth century.

Biography

He grew up as an Orthodox Jew and graduated in 1970. 1969 he spent a year at the University of Leeds in England. After his Russian studies, he traveled to the Soviet Union to save Judaica, and met Jewish dissidents. After his return he start his career as a speaker with presentations about the Jews in the Soviet Union. In 1972 he abandoned his studies and instead wrote an introduction to Judaism ( " The Nine Questions People Ask About Judaism " The nine questions people have to Judaism ). This book was translated into several languages. Since 1982 he has worked as a radio presenter.

1980 Prague learned his first wife, Janice Adelstein, who was a nurse, know. They married on January 15, 1981 and had a son two years later. In August 1986 she applied for a divorce.

On September 4, 1988 married Prague actress Francine Stone in a synagogue in Los Angeles. The couple adopted a son in November 1992. On 30 December 2005, Prague announced during his radio show that he would leave and Stone divorced. On December 31, 2008 married Susan Reed Prague. In 2009 Prague founded the Online University Prague University.

Political positions

Prague is a stern defender of Israel and Judaism. It is against the liberal organization ACLU and the legalization of marijuana. When the Muslim politicians Keith Ellison as the first U.S. politicians took off his oath of office on the Koran to Prague was indignant. One would have to force him to take the oath on the Bible.
