Der Kaiser von Schexing

The Emperor of Schexing - A mayor of Bavaria was a Bavarian television series and own production of Bayerischer Rundfunk, the market Schexing in the fictional town in the district of Ebersberg. Directed by Franz Xaver Bogner, who had the idea for the series and a lot of the screenplays wrote. For more writers were Christian Lerch (3 episodes), Frank Muller (6 episodes ) and Anne Flower ( 3 episodes ). Produced the series in the studios of the BR in Unterföhring and in Rain and in the market Isen.

Content

In continuous focus is Andreas " Andi " Kaiser ( Dieter Fischer). In Schexing born, expelled from the stubborn, wealthy and domineering father, he hoofed it 15 years through the world. He returns back just at the time when his hometown Schexing looking for a mayor. Suitable candidates does not exist and so heave City Treasurer Hermann Nelz ( Gerd Anthoff ) and managing director Rosi Woodpecker ( Dorothee Hartinger ) the son who returned to office. " Andi " Emperor is said to be their puppet and yet is their biggest challenge, as it solves problems on its own, unconventional way and thus not only einhandelt trouble in Schexing, but also with the higher policy, such as the District. Often emperor therefore seems naive and amateurish, towards the end of the episode but usually shows itself that he can circumnavigate all cliffs.

Broadcast

For the first time the series ( a two-part episode of it) in the Bavarian television was from February 2008 in two seasons with 21 episodes sent.

A third season with only five episodes aired in October 2009. The fourth season, also with 5 episodes ran from 11 November to 8 December 2010. Season four was repeated on 13 October 2011 at the Bavarian television. The fifth season with 4 episodes aired from 17 November to 8 December 2011. Further episodes are not being planned.

Locations

The series was filmed in the studio II of the Bayerischer Rundfunk in Unterföhring and in Rain. In Rain are the town hall of Schexing in which it is the real city hall, the marketplace and the bumblebee host ( in reality, the " Council brewery to Bäuml ").

In Isen, among other interior shots were filmed. Isen is also the fictional place Schexing per se in the episode " Ascension " the environment is on a map shown Schexings. Here is the place Isen is marked as Schexing. However, Isen is located in the district of Erding, not like Schexing in the district of Ebersberg. As locations several places in Isen, for example, the local entry of Erdinger road and the town center with images of traffic were used. As a backdrop for the " Schexhof " served mainly Herrmann Landwerkstätten.

Music

For this series Bogner again worked with Emily Haines (Hans -Jürgen Buchner ), which was already responsible for Bogner series and somehow Anyway, to freedom and Café perjury for the background music.
