Towards the sun is an Austrian- German television series about four dropouts, which settle to Yugoslavia. It was shot the series from 1984 to 1985 in Valun, a fishing village on the island of Cres in Croatia. There are 2 seasons of 6 episodes were produced.
Action
The gas station in Hamburg owner Hannes Meckelfeld no longer bear his militant wife and her mother and runs away. In Valun, a small fishing village in the former Yugoslavia, he met the overworked lawyer Dr. Günter Zack, who is dissatisfied with his work, the painter Joe Felden who paints pictures for the high society and thus a lot of money, but finds that he no serious painter more, and finally the Viennese café owners Hawratil Ludwig, who is terrorized by protection racketeers know.

Background
The series deals with the topic dropouts in a very humorous way. Some of the performers were already very well-known actors such as Josef Meinrad, Heidi Kabel, Heinz Petters or Towje Small.
For Erwin Steinhauer, however, came the great success as an actor only through the series. He played with since then in numerous television films and series. Successes came, among others, with the Polt and the Trautmann series.
Harald Gauster, who played the role of Dusko and was series like forest home and the crime scene for a child star in Austria, hung after this series the acting profession on the nail.
