Derrynane Abbey

The ruins of Derrynane Abbey (also called Ahamore Abbey, Irish Tigh Mor Dhoire Fhíonáin ) is in the Irish county of Kerry situated on the small island called Abbey Iceland, on the southwest coast of the Iveragh Peninsula, which belongs to the Derrynane National Historic Park. The nearest town is Caherdaniel.

History

The Monastery of Iroschottischen church was founded according to legend by St. Fionan in the 6th century.
