The German Railway Club eV (DEV ) is an organization based in Bruchhausen- Vilsen, which aims to make operative maintenance of a narrow-gauge railway, with all its facilities as a living open-air museum. Since 2010, the Lower Saxon narrow gauge railway museum Bruchhausen- Vilsen is part of the Route of Industrial Culture in the Northwest.

History

The German Railway Club eV (DEV ) was founded in November 1964 as " German Small Track Club ". On 2 July 1966, the museum railway traffic on the narrow gauge section still Bruchhausen- Vilsen - Heiligenberg of transport companies Hoya County, about 35 km south of Bremen, taken with the steam locomotive " Bruchhausen " and a cart. This was, apart from a few short-lived attempts, the first railway museum in Germany.

Rolling stock

The collection includes vehicle in 2012, more than 100 vehicles in meter and standard gauge model years 1886 to 1964, most of it operational.

The vehicle collection enables typical features of Franzburger orbits - Görlitz weight with brake - to use in operation and to drive in restored features of the circle Altenaer railway and the small railway Hoya - Syke- Asendorf.

Also, some standard gauge vehicles owned by the club, which run regularly on the standard gauge track of Eystrup - Syke, including a former V 36, a Köf III, a Esslinger railcars with sidecar and a MaK GDT.
