Devlin (Rapper)
James Devlin (* 1989 in Dagenham, London ), known as Devlin, is a British Grime musician.
Biography
At age 13, Devlin began as MC at various radio stations, where he was discovered by Dogzilla and brought to the OT Department. His first mixtape, he published in 2006, he gained greater prominence when Kanye West released a video of a freestyling appearance by him in his blog.
His breakthrough became apparent when he was added to the list Sound of 2010, the BBC, the experts forecast for the successful newcomer of the following year. It led to a recording contract with Iceland Records and his debut single Brainwashed, which was released in August 2010 and immediately landed in the Top 40. His first album, Bud, Sweat and Beers appeared at the end of the year and came in at number 21 on the album charts.
Devlin was nominated for the MOBO Awards for Best Newcomer.
