Dhaka (Division)

The Dhaka Division ( Bengali: ঢাকা বিভাগ, Dhaka bibhāg ) is one of seven administrative units of Bangladesh, named the districts of superior and after their respective largest city. The management unit covers an area of ​​31,119.97 km ². The population should now be in excess of 40 million inhabitants ( 2000: 38.678 million ).

The Dhaka Division is bordered to the north by the Indian state of Meghalaya, in the east are the administrative units Sylhet and Chittagong, Barisal in the south and west of Rangpur, Rajshahi and Khulna.
