Dhul-Qarnayn
Dhu l - Qarnayn, Arabic ذو القرنين, DMG you l - Qarnayn, The one with the two horns ', is a figure which goes back to the Greek Alexander Romance and occurs at a point in the Koran. It is mostly identified with Alexander the Great, by some also with the Byzantine Emperor Heraclius.
Dhu l - Qarnayn is in the Quran in Surah 18 verses 83-98 in front, where he against Gog and Magog - have fought, in which he - in the Koran Ya'dschudsch and Ma'dschudsch / يأجوج ومأجوج / Ya ʾ wa - Ma ʾ ǧūǧ ǧūǧ defeated by he poured a wall of iron with copper.

" And they ask you after having two horns. Say: I 'm going to read a story from him. We had given him on earth power and opened it to all one way. Then he followed a way. When he finally got to the place where the sun goes down, he found that it sets in a muddy spring. And he found her in front of a nation. We said, 'You had the two horns! Either you take a penalty before, or you may exercise kindness among them. ' He said, 'If a presumptuously, we will punish him. Thereafter (ie Day of Judgment ), he will be brought before his master, and it is ( in turn ) punish horribly. But if one believes and does what is right, he ( one day ) to be expected as the reward (Aller) best. And we are him from us (?) Friendly award (?) ' He then embarked on a (different) way. When he finally got to the place where the sun rises, he found it rising on people we have created no protection from her. Thus ( was that). And we know (probably ) about it, as it was with him. Then he struck (again) a a (different ) way. When he finally got to the point between the two walls, he found ( this side ) of them people who, if you said something to them, barely understood it. They said, 'You had the two horns! Gog and Magog judge on earth mischief. Shall we not expose you a fee for you to make a wall between us and them? ' He said, ' The power that my Lord has given me is better ( than what you can offer her to me ). Help me now capable, so I 'm doing you, and between them a barrier! ! Bring me pieces of iron ' When he ( the Wall ) had made up equally between the two mountain sides, he said: , Blast ( the fire ) ' When he had finally made to glow, he said: Bring me ( liquid ) metal, so I pour it over! ' Now they could not have him (ie the rampart ) ( over ) come and it is (also) not break through. He said, 'This is ( a proof of ) mercy from my Lord. If, however, ( one day ) the promise (or threat ) is my Lord true, he lets him fall apart into dust. And the promise (or threat ) of my Lord is true. '"
