Diabulus in Musica

Diabulus in Musica is a Spanish symphonic metal band that was founded in 2006 in Pamplona (Navarra ) of Soule Aznárez, Gorka Elso, Adrián Jorge Vallejo and Arca.

Band History

, 2006, singer Soule Aznárez, keyboardist and bassist Gorka Elso Jorge Arca from the band Dragonlord the band in Pamplona (Navarra ) the band. The line-up is completed by guitarist Adrián M. Vallejo and drummer Xabier Jareño. Before the first demo recordings Arca gets out. Adrián M. Vallejo plays then on the demo EP Secrets (2009) type in both the bass and the guitar. After a few gigs without bassist finally joins Alejandro " Alex " Sanz of the band.

The debut album Secrets appears on the label Metal Blade Records on May 21, 2010. For the album, the band worked with members of the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the RTV Orchestra, the Spanish National Choir and the Ensemble Nova Lux The band played to as support act of Manowar and Theatre of Tragedy.

29 February 2012 appeared with The Wanderer, the second studio album by Diabulus in Musica on the label Napalm Records. As a guest star Mark Jansen of Epica is represented on the album.

Band name

The name is inspired by the Latin name for the tritone, which was mainly used in the Middle Ages. The name literally means devil in music and is sometimes translated as Devil interval. Singer Soule Aznárez chose the name to express their attachment to classical music.

Music style

Diabulus in Musica plays Symphonic Power Metal in the style of Theatre of Tragedy, which was supplemented by many classical elements, such as soprano voice, violin and choirs. It is characterized by the alternation between Aznárez ' clean vocals, the part also includes operetta, and Vallejos screams and growls.
