Dick Decloe

Dick Decloe ( born May 20, 1953 in Toronto, Ontario ) is a former Canadian- Dutch ice hockey player and coach.

Career

Dick Decloe began his career as a hockey player in the 1970/71 season with the London Knights in the Canadian Junior Football League Ontario Hockey Association. After moving to Boston University, he played in the University of team among other things together with Vic Stanfield. In 1972 he returned to the OHA and played there with Mark Howe for the Toronto Marlboros.

After a year at IJHC Den Haag in the Dutch Eredivisie, he moved to season 1974/75 to Germany to Krefeld EV and immediately became top scorer and top scorer in the league. In the following three years he was as a player Krefeld's top scorer in the Bundesliga and in the 1976/77 season, in which he was runner-up with Krefeld, again top scorer. For the 1978/79 season he moved to Cologne EC, with whom he won the German championship title at first attempt. Following this success, he signed a contract with Cologne's arch-rival, the Düsseldorf EC, in whose service he upon reaching the topscorer runner-up and the main round of the playoffs was 1981. 1982 he moved to Switzerland for SC Bern, where he ended his career in 1986. In the 1990s he worked among others for the EHC Biel as head coach in Switzerland.

Internationally

For the Netherlands Decloe participated in Lake Placid at the Olympic Winter Games 1980. He took his team to ninth place.
