Dickwella is a small fishing village in the southern part of the island of Sri Lanka, located between Matara and Tangalle. It offers one of the most beautiful beaches in the country on the Indian Ocean. Here is a new infrastructure after the 2004 tsunami. Hotels and small guest houses offer accommodation for individual travelers. In Dickwella is the highest Buddha statue in Sri Lanka. This is located in the temple Wewurukannala Vihara. About 3 km from the village, there is another attraction: the blow hole " Blow Hole ". A crevice in the mountain blows water fountains meters high in the air. During the rainy season this natural spectacle is particularly pronounced to watch.
