Didier Comès

Didier Comès ( born December 11, 1942 in Sourbrodt, † March 7, 2013 ) was a Belgian comic book artist.

Life and work

Comès whose comics are often published only mention of his name, was born as Dieter Hermann Comès in the occupied Germany Belgian Sourbrodt near the German border. His first name was changed after the end of the occupation in Didier. After attending drawing classes, which he completed in Malmedy, Comès worked from 1959 to 1969 as an industrial designer in a textile mill in Verviers. His first professional comic drawings he published in the weekly youth supplement of the newspaper Le Soir. Later follow works for Spirou, Pilote and (à suivre ). His international breakthrough came with the Comès comic novel Silence, for His 1980 Yellow Kid, the Grand Prix Saint -Michel and the Prix Alfred received.

Comès died at the age of 70 years the consequences of pneumonia.
