Pilote

Pilote was from 1959 to 1989, a French youth magazine, which produced many famous comic series, illustrators and writers. So Asterix was developed specially for the launch of pilots for example. The magazine also stories as well as technical and cultural information have been published, such as the Pilotorama where on a color double page a subject was depicted in art or culture in a large drawing. Pilote was known to young and unknown authors to offer publishing opportunities and to allow experimentation. A number of later famous authors was made known to a wide audience by Pilote first time. In the years after 1968, there was heavy fighting in the editors and the publisher Georges Dargaud, which resulted in 1974, the creator of " Asterix ", René Goscinny (at the time editor in chief ) and Albert Uderzo (at the time artistic director ), pilote left.

Publication history

The first issue of Pilote appeared on 29 October 1959. Until May 30, 1974 followed by 759 more issues in a weekly release schedule. During the riots in 1968, the magazine did not appear for two weeks. As of June 1974, the show was changed to monthly expenses and directed the content from the original youth magazine concept to a more adult audience. Thus appeared to February 1986 140 editions before Pilote merged with the magazine Pilote et Charlie Charlie. Of 5 March 1986 to November 1989 published a total of 41 issues, although they were entitled from the number 28 of September 1988 again only Pilote. Then Pilote was adjusted. However, a 132 -page special issue and in 2004 another special issue of Dargaud published on 19 June 2003 nor for Christmas.
