Dieter Hegen

Dieter " Didi " nurture ( born April 29, 1962 in Kaufbeuren ) is a German professional ice hockey player and coach.

Career as a player

Clubs

At the age of 17 years, it became clear that he would one day be one of the most successful German hockey player of all time. In the season 1979/80 he made his debut in the first team his home club, the ESV Kaufbeuren. In the 2nd Bundesliga Süd he scored 60 goals in 42 games and 64 templates and was instrumental in the rise of the ESDC. In his first year in the 1st Bundesliga he was at first with 54 goals scorer. The NHL became aware of him. So the Montreal Canadiens secured NHL Entry Draft in 1981 in the third round as 46th the rights to him. After six Erstligajahren when he moved the ESDC 1986 titleholder, Cologne EC.

In the first year the KEC he became German champion - the first of seven championships, Didi nurture celebrated. In Cologne he met his congenial playmate, the Landshut Gerd Truntschka, with whom he should henceforth form one of the most successful and best duo in the German Ice Hockey History, which Truntschka as technically strong, brilliant presentation timer got the assists and nurture goals scored on the assembly line. 1989 both changed together for Dusseldorf EC, where already knocked an all- star cast to the door to the championship. Along with stars like Peter- John Lee, Chris Valentine, Uli Hiemer, Mike Schmidt and Helmut de Raaf goalkeeper succeeded three times in succession, the German championship (1990, 1991, 1992 ) to win.

Also to the next station they changed together. The EC Hedos Munich bought from the collection of ramshackle SB Rosenheim, who retired from the Bundesliga, and even other top players such as nurture and his colleagues DEG Truntschka and Schmidt together a top team. In the first year, the Munich championship not yet succeeded, as the DEG was too strong still, a year later, however, nobody could stop this team. In the final of the 1993/1994 season DEG was between temporal succession in the final, defeated by the EC Hedos Munich for the sixth time.

Gerd Truntschka ended his career with this title. Cherish, however, remained the following season at the now renamed Maddog Münchenern, but at the beginning of the season went bankrupt and be logged off from the game. He then moved back to the DEG, where he remained for the rest of this season and another three years and German champion 1996. Following the withdrawal of DEG from the DEL, he spent two not so very successful years at the Star Bulls Rosenheim and in 2000 finally to his home club, the ESV Kaufbeuren. Here he ended his active career in 2002.

National

In the German national team, he played 106 World Cup games in which he scored 39 goals and 21 assists. These five appearances came at the Olympic Games with 33 games, 16 goals and seven assists. Overall, the best German Left Wing of the 20th century came to 290 international matches in which he scored 111 hits.

Awards and achievements

He was three times top scorer in the Bundesliga 1: 1981 (for the ESV Kaufbeuren ), 1989 (Cologne) and 1992 ( Dusseldorf ), seven times he was elected to the All- Star team in the Bundesliga. In the Bundesliga history, he scored the second most goals ( according to Mike Nash ).

Since May 23, 2010 Dieter nurture is a member of the IIHF Hall of Fame.

Teams managed

In 2002, nurture into coaching specialist and took over the second division EV Duisburg. The foxes he performed in 2005 for promotion to the DEL, the highest German league. Also left in his eighth play-off finals Didi nurture the ice as the winner - this time as a coach. The EVD was the first to defeat a preliminary round second in the Bundesliga 2, the Straubing Tigers, with a sweep (play- off series without a defeat ), as he also succeeded as a player in Dusseldorf (1992 ) and Munich ( 1994).

In October 2007, he was dismissed for lack of success of EV Duisburg, his successors were as an interim solution first sports director Franz Fritz Meier. On 16 September 2008 Dieter nurture was officially introduced as the new coach. January 7, 2009 Hegen came - along with the entire line of sporty Foxes - back.

Since October 2009, Dieter nurture committed to the social aid project We love Africa for the Football World Cup 2010 in South Africa. He supports the project as inspiration for his city of birth Kaufbeuren.

Since May 23, 2010 Dieter nurture is a member of the IIHF Hall of Fame.

On 22 April 2011, Dieter nurture national coach in street hockey.

In June 2013 Hegen took over the post of head coach ESV Kaufbeuren. On January 20, 2014 he was replaced by Ulrich Egen. Since then he has worked as athletic director at Kaufbeurer club.
