Dirk Bus

Dirk bus ( born December 5, 1907 in The Hague, The Netherlands, † June 10, 1978 ) was a Dutch sculptor.

Life and work

Dirk bus was trained at the Royal Academy of Beeldende Kunsten in The Hague and at the Rijksakademie van Beeldende kunsten in Amsterdam. He was an art student at Bon Willingen- Housz and Jan Bronner and assistant professor of sculpture at the Vrije Academie and at the Haagse Academie. Bus had many famous students, including the sculptor Kees Verkade.

Bus was for many years chairman of the Kunstverein Pulchri Studio and led the Nederlandse Kring van Beeldhouwers Amsterdam ( German: Circle of Dutch sculptor of Amsterdam). He co-founded the artist group Verve in The Hague. He promoted numerous sculptors jobs in The Hague.
