Dlhé Pole

Dlhé poles ( to 1927 Slovak " Dlhépole " or " Duhopol "; Hungarian Trencsénhosszúmező - to 1907 Dlhepole ) is a municipality in the north of Slovakia with 1955 inhabitants ( 31 December 2011), which belongs to Okres Žilina Region, part of the Žilinský.

Geography

The municipality is located in Javorníky in the valley of the brook Dlhopoľka, a right tributary of the Waag. The center is located at an altitude of 392 m nm and is located 14 kilometers away from Bytča and 16 km from Zilina.

Administratively divided the community into the church parts Dlhé Pole, Forbaky - Klukany, Kravárska and Stolečné. Apart from the official parts, there are other individual farms / small settlements in and around the valley.

History

Dlhé Pole was first mentioned in 1320 as Longus campus writing and belonged to the estate of Castle Hričov, and later of Great Bitsch. In the area of ​​present-day municipality was tinker since the early 18th century and spread the inhabitants were active both in the immediate vicinity as well as abroad as wire ties. The other part of the population was engaged in agriculture, sheep farming as well as in mills, saws and other crafts. 1828 are listed 404 houses and 3,114 inhabitants.

1948 split-off from some of the individual farms, which today form the municipality Dlhá nad Kysucou.
