Dolní Moravice

Dolni Moravice [ dɔlɲi mɔravɪtsɛ ː ] ( German Lower Mohrau ) is a municipality with 379 inhabitants ( 1 January 2004) in the Czech Republic. It extends in a tributary at the headwaters of Mohra twelve kilometers west of Bruntál at the foot of the mountains in Altvater 600 meters above sea level

History

The first mention of the village in 1258. It was part of the reign owls mountain. Since 1599 there was a school in Lower Mohrau. 1712 emerged the sawmill and paper mill, where most of the inhabitants were on the payroll.

On 1 December 1930, the municipality of Lower Mohrau 751 inhabitants, on 17 May 1939 were 804 and on May 22, 1947 422 inhabitants. The German inhabitants were expropriated in 1945 and sold. 1949 was incorporated Horni Moravice (Upper Mohrau ), 1961, the former mountain spots Nová Ves ( Neudorf ) became the district.
