Domingos Gabriel Wisniewski

Domingos Gabriel Wisniewski CM ( born March 2, 1928 in the Guarani Missões, Rio Grande do Sul province, Brazil, † July 21, 2010 in Londrina, Paraná, Brazil) was a Roman Catholic theologian and Bishop of Apucarana.

Life

Domingos Gabriel Wisniewski, son of an immigrant from Lublin in the 19th century Polish family, the Congregation of the Vincentians joined and studied philosophy and theology at the seminary in Curitiba as well as in Paris. There, received on 29 June 1955, the ordination. He then studied at the Catholic University in Curitiba, where he was professor and rector of the seminary in Curitiba as well as Provincial Superior.

1975 Pope Paul VI appointed him. Titular Bishop of Tela and appointed him as Auxiliary Bishop of Curitiba. The episcopal consecration on August 28, 1975 He received his Archbishop Carmine Rocco, Apostolic Nuncio in Brazil; Co-consecrators were the Archbishop of Curitiba, Antônio Pedro Marchetti Fedalto, and the Archbishop of Porto Alegre, Alfredo Vicente Cardinal Scherer.

1979 he was appointed bishop of the diocese Cornélio Procópio and 1983 the appointment as Bishop of the Diocese of Apucarana Paraná state by Pope John Paul II. , 2005, upheld its age-related resignation.

Domingos Gabriel Wisniewski passed away in Hospital Antônio Prudente in Londrina from the effects of diverticulitis disease. He is buried in the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes ( Catedral Nossa Senhora de Lourdes ) in Apucarana.
