Donald Brashear

Donald Brashear ( born January 7, 1972 in Bedford, Indiana) is a Canadian- American professional ice hockey player who is since November 2010 at 3L de Rivière -du -Loup in the Ligue Nord - Americaine de Hockey under contract. Brashear is the great- nephew of Carl Brashear, whose life was the inspiration for the film Men of Honor.

Career

Brashear began his NHL career with the Montreal Canadiens, who committed him as a free agent before the 1992/93 season. He had previously played for the Longueuil Collège Français in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

1996, 1.88 m wide and 108 -pound winger was transferred to the Vancouver Canucks after he had fallen into a training camp in Denver with Canadiens coach Mario Tremblay together. On 1 August 2010 he was released along with Patrick Rissmiller to Atlanta Thrashers. Three days later, the Thrashers broke his contract to pay out and left him.

In September 2010, Brashear signed with the GCI de Sorel - Tracy in the Ligue Nord - Americaine de Hockey. After six games, he has been committed in November 2010 by 3L de Rivière -du -Loup.
