Donald Ridge is a narrow ridge, the south of Mount Capley in the West Antarctic Pioneer Heights extends in a southerly direction. About 1 mile ( 1.9 km ) west runs the similar-looking Ronald Ridge, south flows the Driscoll glacier.

Donald Ridge was mapped by the United States Geological Survey as part of the compilation of Ellsworthgebirges in the years 1961-66 by site surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy. It was named by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names by Donald L. Willson, who worked as a meteorologist at the research station Little America V in 1958.
