Doňov

Donov ( German Donow ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located 19 km north-west of Hradec Jindřichův and belongs to Okres Jindřichův Hradec.

Geography

Donov located at Doňovský creek in a pond landscape in southern Bohemia. South of the town lies the 10 -acre pond Podveský rybik. In the southwest of the railway from Jindřichův Hradec goes according to Veseli nad Lužnicí whose breakpoint Donov located in two kilometers away Záhoří.

Neighboring towns are Lzin in the northeast, Záhoří in the east, in the southeast Pleše, Újezdec in the south, Zlukov the southwest, Řípec in the west and Dráchov in the northwest.

History

Donov emerged as a farmstead in the border between the forest and Chýnover Doudlebyer lands. First records of the court in 1402, when he got in an exchange to the monastery of Trebon. 1565 acquired the Rosenbergs Donov and from 1631 the place belonged again to Trebon monastery. After its secularization in 1783, Schwarzenberg bought in 1787 the village and held it up to the replacement of patrimonial regimes in 1848.

After the construction of the Imperial Road from Vienna to Prague drove many stagecoaches and teamsters through the village, which had previously lived by agriculture. For travelers, a guest house with Ausspanne arose. On November 3, 1887 Donov received a breakpoint at the newly built railway Veseli nad Lužnicí - Havlíčkův Brod, which is located in Záhoří.
