Dr JS Moroka Local Municipality

Dr JS Moroka (English Dr JS Moroka Local Municipality ) is a town in South Africa's District Nkangala in Mpumalanga Province. The administrative center of the municipality is located in Siyabuswa. Inah Mapule Masombuka is the mayor. The ANC represents the majority in the City Council.

The namesake of the municipality was James Moroka, the 1949-1952 President of the ANC. The municipality covers an area of ​​1416 square kilometers. 2007, the municipality had 246 969 inhabitants according to projections.

Geography

The municipality is located in the northeast of the province and has a majority of the municipal boundary, together with the province of Limpopo. To the south it borders the municipality of Thembisile and on the southwest by the province of Gauteng. In the center of the municipality is the Rhenosterkop Dam ( also Mkhombo Dam ). The Elands River flows through the reservoir. The camel flows in the municipal area in the Elands. Main thoroughfare in the community is the R 568, which opens on the eastern boundary of the municipality in the R 573. Places in the community are Marapjane, Nokaneng, SEABEES and Siyabuswa.

Economy

The largest employers in the community are the range of public services and agriculture. It is operated livestock and cultivated maize and vegetables. The main industrial area is located to Siyabuswa.
