Mpumalanga
Mpumalanga (Eastern Transvaal before 2002 ) is a South African province in the northeast of the Republic. Covering an area of 76,495 km ² around 4.0 million inhabitants ( 2011). The capital is Mbombela.
In the north, bordering the Limpopo Mpumalanga province, on the east by the states of Swaziland and Mozambique; in the south are the provinces of KwaZulu -Natal and Free State, Gauteng west of it. Within the province, lies the southern part of the Kruger National Park.
Mpumalanga is a partner region of North Rhine- Westphalia.
Name
Mpumalanga is the SiSwati designation for the "place where the sun rises ".

Economy
The province is one of the most important industrial regions of South Africa and is rich in mineral resources such as gold, platinum group metals, chrome ore, iron ore, copper ore, coal and Nutzgesteine .
In Secunda Sasol operates one of the largest facilities in the country synthesis of liquid fuels and propellants.
