Dragoljub Minić

Dragoljub Minić ( born April 5, 1936 in Podgorica, † by April 5, 2005 in Novi Sad ) was a Yugoslav chess player.

Minić ' chess career peaked in the 1960s and 1970s, culminating, so he won in 1962, together with Aleksandar Matanović the Yugoslav Chess Championship. In 1964 he received the title of International Master. In 1990 he was honorary. [A 1] Grandmaster

Minić represented Yugoslavia, among others, at the Chess Olympiads Varna 1962 ( Second place for Yugoslavia behind the Soviet Union, Minić reached at second reserve board 7 points from 9 games ) and Siegen 1970 ( Third place for Yugoslavia after the Soviet Union and Hungary, Minić reached at second reserve board 7, 5 points from 9 games ).

On April 9, 2005 Minić of friends was found dead in his apartment after he did not respond to contact attempts. The medical examination revealed that probably death overtook him by heart attack on his 69th birthday.
