Dumitru Pavlovici

Dumitru Pavlovici ( born April 26, 1912 in Temesvár, Austria - Hungary, † September 28, 1993 ) was a Romanian football goalkeeper. He completed 176 games in the highest Romanian football league, the Divizia A, and participated in the World Cup 1938.

Career

Pavlovici began his career in his hometown Timişoara in Dacia. In 1933 he moved to local rivals Ripensia who scored in the 1930s the most successful Romanian clubs. In Ripensia Pavlovici became a regular player and celebrated on June 24, 1934 his debut in the highest Romanian league, the Divizia A. During the eight years, where he remained faithful Ripensia, he was able to win three championships with the club and a cup win.

In 1941 Pavlovici Ripensia left and moved to CFR Turnu Severin. Since the operation of the game Divizia A due to the Second World War had been interrupted, he came only in the transition Championship ( Bessarabia Cup ) and Romanian Cup for use, he could win again in 1943.

After the war Pavlovici returned in 1946 to Timisoara and from then on played for CFR Timişoara, which had been classified as the only club of the city in the re-established Divizia A. In 1948 he reached behind ITA CFR Arad the runner-up and was the greatest success of the club involved. After the 1951 season Pavlovici ended his career at the age of 39 years.

National

Pavlovici played 15 games for the Romanian national football team. He made his debut on May 17, 1936 against Greece. His biggest success in the national jersey was attending the World Cup in France in 1938, where he was employed in the first game against Cuba.
