Duško Tošić

Dusko Tošić (Cyrillic: Душко Тошић ) [ duʃkɔ tɔʃitɕ ] (born 19 January 1985 in Orlovat, Yugoslavia ) is a Serbian football player. Since 2012, the defender is at Gençlerbirliği Ankara under contract.

Career

Association

Tošić grew up in the village on Orlovat near Zrenjanin, where he started at the local football club FK Proleter playing football at the age of ten years. In 2002 he moved to OFK Belgrade. He graduated from a total of 80 games in which he scored 6 goals, before he moved to FC Sochaux in January 2006. There he was a regular player in 2007 and won the trophy.

For the season 2007/ 08 Tošić moved to Werder Bremen. He received a contract until 2011. Having participated in the 2008 Summer Olympics he could no longer play back into the team and should be borrowed during the winter break of the 2009/10 season at the MSV Duisburg. Since Tošić was burst, despite the promise change, Werder Bremen broke on 1 February 2010 the contract on him.

Shortly thereafter, he should sign a contract with the English first division club Portsmouth FC. Since the Portsmouth has financial difficulties, the club was allowed to undertake any new players and thus could Tošić sign any contract. End of March 2010, he signed a contract on loan until the end of the season at English second division side Queens Park Rangers.

Since the summer of 2010 he was at Red Star Belgrade under contract. He was loaned in the summer of 2011 for a year at Real Betis, but this lending was terminated after half a year.

For the 2012/13 season Tošić changed in the Turkish Süper Lig on the Brussels residents of Gençlerbirliği Ankara.

In addition to the position as a left-back Tošić can also be used in central defense.

National

Tošić had his international debut for the senior team of Serbia on 15 November 2006 against Norway (the game ended in a draw 1:1).

Tošić was active with the U -21 at the 2007 European Championships in the Netherlands, where he was European Vice Champion. With Serbia he also participated in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.
