NBA

Boykins was taken without Draft in 1999 by the New Jersey Nets under contract. There he was hardly used and changed a short time later to the Cleveland Cavaliers. He now plays for the Houston Rockets. Previously, he was active in the NBA for the New Jersey Nets, Cleveland Cavaliers, Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Clippers, Golden State Warriors, Denver Nuggets, Milwaukee Bucks, Charlotte Bobcats and the Washington Wizards. As Boykins was not a good offer from an NBA team in 2008, he went to Italy for a year to the Virtus Bologna. However, he later returned one years back in the NBA back and signed for one year with the Wizards.

In March 2012 he received a contract for 10 days at the Houston Rockets and returned so back to the NBA. Per option the Rockets were able to long-term bind it to the team.
